The Broken Glass Wasn’t the Problem… (Part 1)

I have to share this while it’s still fresh, because I’m honestly still sitting with it.

So I took my granddaughter Trinity to the park. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a simple day, a beautiful neighborhood, kids playing, families out… the kind of place where you feel like everything is safe. Out of all the cars parked there…mine was the one that got broken into.

The back window shattered and not just any window… the one right by Trinity’s car seat.

Now, you would think that would send me into panic mode.

But it didn’t. I stayed calm. I didn’t react the way I used to.

I just… observed.

I kept asking myself:

“What am I supposed to see in this?”

Because at this point in my life, I’m learning that not everything is disruption. Sometimes it’s something else entirely. Things actually started lining up for me pretty quickly. I found a place to fix the window that didn’t cost what I expected & I got an appointment set for the next day at a place I already knew

Faith Auto Glass

That name alone made me pause.

Not coincidence.

Not to me.

And then I realized something else…Because of this situation, I now suddenly had time. There was something I had been needing to take care of and I had been putting off because I didn’t have PTO, didn’t have the flexibility, didn’t have the “right time.”

But now time had been… created. That’s when I started to feel it. Maybe this whole situation wasn’t just random. Maybe something was being rearranged for me? I was starting to understand it. Or at least… I thought I was.

Because I hadn’t noticed what was missing yet. Something was taken from that car and that’s when this whole experience changed meaning for me.

To Be Continued…

🦋Reflection: The Pause Before You Understand

Before the full meaning reveals itself… there is always a pause and most of us rush right past it. What if our power is actually in not knowing yet? Think about a moment recently where something didn’t go as planned. Sometimes the first version of the story isn’t the real one.

Practice: The Intentional Pause

The next time something unexpected happens, try this!

Pause before reacting: Take one full breath. Then another.

Ask a better question: Instead of “Why is this happening to me?” Think ... “What might this be making space for?”

Delay the meaning: Don’t rush to decide if it’s good or bad. Just let it be… incomplete.

Stay present with what is: Not what you think it means yet.

Sometimes clarity doesn’t come in the moment. Sometimes it comes after the pause.
